Stainless Steel Chemical Composition Chart

The elemental chemical composition of stainless steel is mainly composed of Ferrum (Fe) and Chromium (Cr), other alloy elements in the chemical composition also include Carbon (C), Silicon (Si), Manganese (Mn), Phosphorus (P), Sulfur (S), Nickel (Ni), Molybdenum (Mo), Titanium (Ti), Nitrogen (N), and Cuprum (Cu), etc. Only when the Cr percentage composition reaches a certain value, the steel has corrosion resistance. Therefore, stainless steel metal generally has a Chromium content of minimum 10.5%.

The following table lists the chemical composition of stainless steel alloys, including austenitic SS 304, 304L 316, 316L, 321, 303, 302, 301, 904L, 201, etc., martensitic SS 440A, 440B, 440C, 420 etc., ferritic SS 430, duplex stainless steel 2205, 2507, 329, etc.
